Superstarlet Natalie Imbruglia could easily be found in the city of Toronto yesterday as she made appearences to help bring more awareness to diease that affects over 2,000,000 women in the Third World to live as outcasts.

“Governments … should make it their responsibility to end this unnecessary suffering,” said the famous singer, who is alsoa spokeswoman for the United Nations effort to fight obstetric fistula in Third World nations. “They needed a voice … someone who wasn’t scared to talk about it. I’m up for a challenge,” said Natalie Imbruglia while making an appearence at the Spoke Club on King St.

Dr. Ambereen Sleemi also made an appearence at the Spoke Club, to speak about his trips to Africa to perform surguries, said the condition sometimes causes husbands to abandon their wives, and communities to shun the women. “It’s like pounding your fist against a wall. It’s your fist that will give way,”

The condition causes a portion of body tissue to die, during childbirth, leaving a hole that leaves many woman unable to control their body waste, many victims are forced out of their homes due to the resulting smell. The truly sad news is that a small $300 USD surgery easily repairs the damage and can restore a woman’s dignity and lifestyle yet so very few Africans can afford the surgery and live as outcasts.

“They’re just beaming … their dignity’s back,” Imbruglia said, describing women she met in Nigeria after their sucessful surgeries. “They do a little dance when they’ve had their surgery. You’re giving women back their lives because living with fistula is not really living.”

In what was yet another show of rumour quashing from one of the music industries more interesting couples. Natalie Imbruglia and Daniel Johns attempted to prove to the world that their relationship was as strong as ever by partying togather this past weekend in the Sydney area.

As we mentioned a few weeks back Natalie has return to Australia to spend some quality time with her husband, the couple spend a romantic Friday evening out on the town with events such as:

  • A water taxi ride from the Rose Bay area to the bar and restaurant district at the King Street Wharf.
  • Hours worth of partying at the popular Cargo Bar, all while looking very stylish and fashionably matching and of course VERY much togather.

All this trying really makes me start to wonder if its not just another celeb couple pretending everything is fine when the truth is anything but.

Natalie Imbruglia has quickly stamped out reports that her 2 year marriage to Daniel Johns is in a rough spot in fact she is now joining his band’s tour later this year as a show of support.

Natalie, best known for her 1997 hit “Torn”, and Daniel Johns, have sadly been forced to keep their relationship alive from opposite sides of the world – after attending the BAFTA awards last month gossipists had speculated the couple had split or was in deep trouble. While a sleek and stylish Natalie Imbruglia attended the BAFTA Awards on the arm of an unknown male companion this past week, hubby Silverchair singer Daniel Johns made one of his very rare public appearance at a party in Sydney, Australia.

I suppose its one of those cracks that start to form in long distance relationships but it truly is a miracle these two have stayed togather as long as they have, espically given that they live in seperate countries both pursueing entirely seperate careers.

Looking stunning as ever Natalie was very pleasant and even posed for some lucky photographers, however her husband Johns as usual tried his best to avoid the media as he made his appearance at the Absolut Kravitz party this past Wednesday.

While Natalie Imbruglia keeps trying to get her career rolling again in London, England, Johns is rehearsing songs for Silverchairs comeback tour slated to start sometime in ‘06.
